This 1977 International Harvester Super Scout II is finished in Dark Brown Metallic over a black interior, and power comes from a 196ci inline-four driving the rear or all four wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Factory equipment includes a black soft top and side curtains as well as power steering, a rear step bumper, plastic door openings, and an AM/FM radio. It was acquired by the seller 2021 from the estate of its previous owner, with whom it is said to have undergone a refurbishment. The truck has since been updated by the seller with a paint correction and ceramic coating, a rebuild of the carburetor, multiple fluid changes, servicing of the cooling, ignition, and braking systems, and replacement of the tires.
Conceived as a stripped-down version intended to compete with the contemporary Jeep CJ, the Super Scout II featured a unique plastic grille, plastic door openings windshield frame-mounted mirrors, a roll bar, and gold graphics. This example was reportedly repainted in Dark Brown Metallic during previous ownership, and a paint correction was performed and ceramic coating was applied by the seller. A black soft top, bikini top, and side curtains are included in the sale.
White-painted 15″ wagon wheels are mounted with 31×10.50″ BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A K02 tires fitted during current ownership, and a matching spare wheel with a Goodyear tire is mounted in the bed. Brake system maintenance is said to include a cleaning and adjustment of the rear brakes along with an adjustment to the parking brake, and the truck is equipped with manually locking front hubs.
The interior features seats re-trimmed in black vinyl upholstery, which is contrasted by the gold-finished dashboard. Factory equipment includes an AM/FM radio as well as heating and defrost functions.
The three-spoke steering wheel bears a Scout horn button and sits ahead of factory instrumentation that includes a horizontal 100-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows just over 22k miles.
