This 1972 Datsun 240Z was originally delivered to Holiday Datsun in Christiansburg, Virginia, and was acquired by the seller in 2009. Subsequent work reportedly included rebuilding the 2.4-liter L24 inline-six and installing it in March 2021. This 1972 Datsun 240Z was originally delivered to Holiday Datsun in Christiansburg, Virginia, and was acquired by the seller in 2009. Subsequent work reportedly included rebuilding the 2.4-liter L24 inline-six and installing it in March 2021. Additional work included rebuilding the four-speed manual transmission, as well as refreshing the suspension and interior and installing ZTherapy carburetors, a replacement dashboard, braking components, exterior weatherstripping, and an exhaust manifold. Maintenance in 2021 included installing water and oil pumps as well as replacing the fuel sender, clutch and master cylinders.
The car is finished in orange and features chrome bumpers with overriders, a driver-side chrome mirror, and Datsun fender badging. Work performed by the seller included smoothing out the sail panel seams and repainting the rear taillamp panel in black, as well as replacing the taillamp surrounds, weatherstripping, and emblems.
Steel 14” wheels wear factory covers and are mounted with older Vredestein tires. Work performed under current ownership is said to have included rebuilding the front and rear brakes as well as installing polyurethane bushings and U-joints.
An interior refresh carried out by the seller included installing a replacement dashboard as well as replacing the seat covers, carpets, and door panels. The fuse panel was upgraded, and the turn signal switches rebuilt. The driver’s door occasionally requires extra effort to shut according to the seller, and the glovebox does not close flush.
The faux-wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer and an 8k-rpm tachometer. The five-digit odometer shows 75k miles
The 2.4-liter inline-six was reportedly rebuilt by the seller and installed in March 2021. Additional work included changing fluids and replacing the exhaust manifold, water pump, and fuel pump. Modifications include ZTherapy carburetors and a coolant bypass hose underneath the intake manifold. Shifting is through a four-speed manual transmission.
