This 1966 Ford Bronco is a U140 Sports Utility pickup that was placed on a rotisserie and refurbished during previous ownership, after which the body and chassis were refinished, the interior was redone, and the suspension and brakes were overhauled. It is powered by a rebuilt 170ci inline-six mated to a three-speed manual transmission, dual-range transfer case, and a Ford 9″ rear axle. The truck features 15″ wheels with hubcaps, a bed-mounted spare, locking front hubs, drum brakes, and a heater. This first-year Bronco is offered in Oregon with build photos and records and a Tennessee title.
The truck was delivered new in Rangoon Red (J) and under previous ownership, the body was removed from the frame and placed on a rotisserie before rust repair was performed and body panels were replaced. The exterior was refinished in red with a white upper cab, and other features include white bumpers and a cream-finished “eyebrow” grille. The paintwork and exterior trim are shown up close in the photo gallery below.
The 15″ steel wheels wear chrome hubcaps and are wrapped in Power King Extra Traction tires. A spare is mounted in the pickup bed, and the front axle is equipped with manually-locking Warn hubs. During the refurbishment, the brake lines, master cylinder, springs, and shocks were replaced.
The reupholstered interior features a bench seat with a silver cover and black lap belts. The floor is covered with black liners in the footwells. The heater core and control cables have been replaced.
The two-spoke steering wheel frames a 100-mph speedometer with integrated auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows approximately 100 miles, 75 of which have been added by the seller. Total mileage is unknown.
The 170ci inline-six was factory-rated at 105 horsepower and 146 lb-ft of torque. Power is delivered to the rear or all four wheels through a column-shifted three-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. The engine, transmission, and transfer case were reportedly rebuilt under previous ownership.
The truck is said to utilize a Dana 30 front axle and a Ford 9″ rear axle with a limited-slip differential. The chassis and underbody have been refinished.
A replacement trim tag has been affixed to the truck after the original was lost during the refurbishment process. The chassis number frame stamping is shown in the gallery.
A binder with build photos and a description of work performed was compiled by the previous owner and is included in the sale.
